Club History
Rockefvs as a team was established in February 2020 and was registered to play in the Football Association Pretoria (FAP) league in the same year and also participated in the league and cup competition games.
The name of the team comes from the nickname of its President “The Rock” Themba Mnguni, who is a former Mamelodi Sundowns captain and the National team (Bafana Bafana) player.
The team started with only three divisions of under 15, 17, 19 in the first season of the year 2020. The team used Rangers FC fields for practice and home games.
As a new team without any financial aid to buy a playing jersey and training equipment, we had to rely on donations and parent contributions to curb the needs. The team did well in the first season and attracted most of community members, which brought us more players and the team was able to add another division (Under 21). We dominated the league since the formation of Rockefvs till year 2023 by winning the league and cup games back to back, which led us to a decision of registering with Gauteng Development League Promotional (GDLP), which is a higher league in Gauteng to enhance the development of our boys.
